2025
- June 2025 – A.W.F Taylerson commenced extracting data from Patent Office records in respect of the assignment of British patents covering firearms and related inventions. His work had only covered two volumes, 1853-1866 and 1867-1871, when the original records were destroyed in 1963. Taylerson’s work may now be the best remaining source of information on the assignment of such patents.
- April 2025 – April shoot at Bisley with MLAGB 300 yard Rifle Championship for Enfield rifle and target rifle, and two days of practice at 600, 900 and 1,000 yards.
- March 2025 – Peter Smithurst’s two volumes on ‘The Evolution of Gun Making‘ give a unique insight into military gunmaking of the 18th and 19th century.
- February 2025 – New contact details for serial number documentation from the original records of the Sharps Rifle Company.
2024
- October 2024 – It was good to see 20 members of the Long Range Rifles Branch of the MLAGB at Bisley on Saturday 26 October, for the final competitions of the year.
- October 2024 – There have been three recent Library updates, covering British gunmakers and antique firearms conservation.
- July 2024 – Available at long last! Ready for immediate delivery. SHARPS FIREARMS: Model 1878 “Borchardt Patent” Rifles and other Sharps Models by Roy Marcot, Ron Paxton and Edward W. Marron, Jr.
- June 2024 – A splendid weekend of long range muzzle loading at Bisley, with the MLAGB and the Long Range Rifles Branch! Shooting at 600, 900 and 1,000 yards.
- May 2024 – The Long Range Rifles Branch of the MLAGB spent three days at Bisley, early May, shooting at 500, 600, 900 and 1,000 yards.
- May 2024 – With the demise of the BPTRA last December, a new Federation to promote BPTR shooting matches is being formed.
- April 2024 – ‘British Commonwealth Bayonets and Fighting Knives‘ by Ian Skennerton & Brian Labudda. Revised and updated. – – Pre-Publication Offer – –
- April 2024 – Shooting at Bisley with the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain. 300 and 500 yards with .577 Enfield service rifle and percussion target rifle.
- March 2024 – The 2024 Dick Hoff Memorial Target Rifle Mid-Range Match will be held on 11 May 2024, at Miami Rifle and Pistol Club, Cincinnati, OH.

- March 2024 – De Witt Bailey (1938-2024) – De Witt Bailey passed away on 9 March 2024. Those who knew him or his work will be aware of the huge legacy of study he has left us.
- February 2024 – Research Press: new web site – Migration from the old domain is well underway, but may take a couple of months to complete.
- January 2024 – Creedmoor 150, Oak Ridge, TN – Oct. 2024 – Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Ireland vs USA long range rifle match at Creedmoor.
2023
- December 2023 – Traditional Creedmoor Match, 2024 – Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the 1874 Match. Traditional Creedmoor Match: August 30 – September 2, 2024.
- September 2023 – 2023 Joe Hepsworth Long Range Match – The 2023 Joe Hepsworth Long Range Black Powder Rifle Match will be held at at Camp Atterbury, IN., November 4th & 5th, 2023.
- September 2023 – NRA(UK) Trafalgar Meeting 2023 – Trafalgar Meeting, Bisley, Saturday 21st – Sunday 22nd October 2023. This is the premier UK event for historical firearms.
- August 2023 – 2023 NMLRA All 1000 yard – NMLRA September 2023 Black Powder Target Rifle Match, Camp Atterbury, 1000 yards.
- August 2023 – 2023 BPTRA Creedmoor Nationals – This is the premiere long range BPTR match in the Black Powder Target Rifle Association.
- May 2023 – 2023 NMLRA’s Terpstra/Swallow Long Range Match – NMLRA June 2023 Long Range Match, Camp Atterbury, IN. 800, 900, 1000 yards.
- March 2023 – Knowing the Enfield – Pattern 1853 to 1865. Volume 1 – New book that covers subjects such as accouterments, the British Volunteer Movement, pouches, tools, guide and parts.
- March 2023 – British Ordnance Muskets of the 1830s and 1840s: George Lovell’s Legacy – newly published by the Royal Armouries.
