Davies, William Thomas (b. 1858) Born: Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, 1858. Occupation: Tin-plate roller / Commercial traveller. Sergeant, 1st Volunteer Battalion Welsh Regiment, 1893. Colour-Sergeant, 3rd Glamorgan, 1903. Alive in LLanelly, Carmarthenshire, in 1911.
Queen’s Prize Gold Medal: 1893. Palma Trophy: Great Britain Team; 1902, 1903. King’s Prize Gold Medal: 1903.

William Metford worked closely with the Bristol gunmaker George Gibbs, the manufacturer of the Gibbs-Metford muzzle loading match rifle and the later Farquarson-Metford breech loading rifle. This obituary was published in Minutes of Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, in 1900.
